The foundational 10-digit code mandatory for every Indian export transaction. Issued by the DGFT under the Ministry of Commerce. Without this, no shipment can legally leave India. Apply at: dgft.gov.in

Mandatory for all food exporters. Ensures compliance with hygiene, labeling, and packaging standards. Large exporters require a Central License (turnover above ₹20 Cr). 14-digit license number must appear on all packages. Apply at: foscos.fssai.gov.in

Compulsory for exporting agricultural products including turmeric. APEDA provides guidance on quality standards, subsidies, financial support, training, and trade fair participation. Valid 5 years, renewable. Apply at: apeda.gov.in

All spice exporters (producers or merchants) must register with the Spices Board of India. They regulate quality standards, provide testing facilities, export intelligence, and issue the Spices Board Certificate. Apply at: indianspices.com

Mandatory for all business transactions in India. Required before any export invoicing. Exporters can claim GST refunds on exports under IGST Act. Apply at: gst.gov.in

Certifies that the product is free from pests, diseases, and invasive species. Required by most importing countries. Issued by the Plant Quarantine Authority. Essential for USA, EU, UK, Australia, Canada, and Japan.

Officially certifies the product's country of origin. Required for customs clearance and preferential duty treatment under bilateral trade agreements. Issued by FIEO, Export Inspection Council, or Chamber of Commerce.

Required to avail benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy. Issued by relevant Export Promotion Councils (APEDA, SPICES Board). Enables access to export incentives, subsidies, and government schemes.

Lakadong is organically grown by default (no synthetic inputs used in Jaintia Hills). NPOP (India) certification by APEDA, USDA NOP for USA, and EU Organic for European markets. Commands significantly higher prices in international markets.

GI Tag No. 741 protects the authentic identity of Lakadong Turmeric. This certificate proves the product is genuine Lakadong from East/West Jaintia Hills — commanding premium prices and legal protection against counterfeits globally.

ISO 22000 ensures food safety management throughout the supply chain. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) prevents contamination at every processing stage. Required by EU, USA, UK, and premium markets.

Required by several countries (especially USA, Australia, and Middle East) certifying that the product has been treated to eliminate microbial risks. Steam sterilization is the preferred method for turmeric. Issued by EIC (Export Inspection Council).
